Nenu Naa Rakshasi Movie Review

Nenu Naa Rakshasi
Movie : Nenu Naa Rakshasi
Rating2.5/5
Cast : Rana Daggubati, Ileana, Abhimanyu Singh, Subbaraju, Nagineedu, Ali, Mumaith Khan etc Music: Rahman, Viswas, Anup Rubens
Directed by : Puri Jagannath
Produced by : Nallamalupu Bujji
Banner : Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Productions
Music : Rahman, Viswas, Anup Rubens
Release Date : 2011-04-29
Story:
Each one has a take on many things in life. Abhi (Rana) becomes a sharp shooter as his family was destroyed by Rathna (Abhimanyu Singh) a gangster. Ileana is a photographer of suicides and she posts these pics on the youtube. She has her reasons for this. But whatever their reason each of the important characters in the film has a take on suicides. The film is a coming together of these characters. The movie has important roles for Mumaith Khan and Subbaraju. To witness how this story evolves and what is the fate of each character one has to step into the big screen. Some endings are unconventional!
Artist Performances:
Rana looks classy. He is all style and he compensates his lack of dancing abilities with some very good screen presence. Ileana as usual looks classy in a sensual manner. She is maturing as an actress with each passing film. Abhimanyu Singh is as evil as villains could be. Mumaith Khan gives what one wants and she has some dialogues to mouth also. Subbaraju is adequate and does a decent job. Ali in the comical role is apt.
Plus Points:
    * Locations
    * First Half
    * Rana and Ileana's Presence
    * Visual Grandeur
Minus Points:
    * Second Half
    * Vulgar Comedy
    * No Conviction In Exploring The Theme
Analysis:
This film is the coming together of two very different people the very austere and savvy Rana, who is more of a method guy, someone who believes in writing exhaustive scripts and then rewriting them to perfection. Then there is Puri, who is more of a ruffian, the street smart guy who works on instincts and whose methods are not necessarily refined. This union has worked on certain fronts and has failed on many others. A story of a girl who is a photographer of people who commit suicides and a guy who is a shooter is a little weird for the Telugu audience. Then too much blabber about death and how it should be approached is not something you look forward to in Puri Jagannath-Rana film. The characters in the films look edgy and not fully convincing. This film is certainly not for the masses! Puri and Rana will have to do a lot of explaining for having made this film. Fans will be unhappy and the discerning audience will be critical!
Verdict: Disappointing!

Secret meeting between Puri & Ileana

All the hopes built up by ileana on strong come back with 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' are drowned down by delayed release of film. Puri Jagannath's special interest focusing on new glamour quotient of ileana didn’t go smooth as per plan. Apparently reason behind the liberal postponements of flick is the importance of ileana’s character over Rana.
Secret meeting between Puri & IleanaThe cine folks say Puri highlighted ileana in total movie forgetting to show heroism in Rana to the same level. This disturbed Rana and his father Suresh Babu, once they saw the first rushes of film.
Though Rana pressured Puri Jagannath for re-shooting and re-editing of major part, there was no response from director who believes that everything was up to the script. Producer stayed neutral without loosing balance and finally movie is gossiped to hit screens on 4th of next month without the presence of Puri in Hyderabad.
One night before leaving to Mumbai, both ileana and Puri are heard caught up in a secret meeting to discuss the fate of 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi'. Same sources say Puri consoled ileana for the whole night promising her to offer good roles in forthcoming films. Finally, Rakshasi is convinced.

Can Rana take on Jr. NTR and Pawan?

Power Star pawan kalyan and Young Tiger Junior NTR are the best bets at BO, given their track record of creating wonders even with failure materials. As both these Tollywood titans are to clash in coming weeks with ‘Teen Maar’ and ‘Shakti,’ an interesting competition is on the cards.
Can Rana take on Jr. NTR and Pawan?With ‘Shakti’ scheduled for March 30th release and ‘Teen Maar’ for second week of April, there have been reports that Rana is trying to intervene into the race with ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ hitting the screens on April 4 that falls exactly mid way between Tarak and Pawan. It happened nearly two months that post production of NNR is completed and prints are mugging up for their way to theatres. Did Rana have that capability to compete with heavy BO heroes? Will Puri still go with the same date? Let us wait and see.

Puri Jagan's Suicide Makes RT Happy!

Puri Jagan's Suicide Makes RT Happy!Being a successful commercial director, Puri Jagannadh never finds space to showcase his sensible inner side. Though he managed to touch hearts of many with his ‘Neninthe’, the flick was a disaster. Now, his prudent ‘Suicide’ is making waves in Film Nagar.
News is that Puri wants to come up with a sensational flick that deals with the suicides of students and love failure candidates. A film maker’s true intentions will be exposed with this kind of offbeat flicks that render the hearts of viewers melted with its hitting message. Sources stated that RT aka Ravi Teja is very happy with the script of this flick, as there are chances for him to play the protagonist. Hope the film will bring change in the mindsets of guys and girls with suicidal tendencies and it will become financially viable too.

Mumaith Khan buttering Pawan Kalyan

Mumaith Khan buttering Pawan KalyanThe connection between director Puri Jagannath and sex bomb Mumaith Khan is so special. From item song in 'Pokiri' to special negative role in 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi', both of them shared exceptional rapport and superb relation. The time when Mumaith is left idle in Telugu and Tamil films from last two years, Puri Jagannath offered her an important negative role in 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi'.
Meanwhile not pleased by this offer, Mumaith Khan is trying her hand to grab 'Munni Badnam…' item song in Gabbar Singh, remake to Hindi hit 'Dabangg'. Already she has done remarkable job in 'Magadheera' with 'Bangaru Kodi Petta' mesmerizing Chiru fans. Now she wants to repeat the same with Pawan Kalyan by galloping the offer of 'Malaika Arora Khan'.
Recommendations are already flown from Puri Jagannath to director Harish Shankar and Mumaith is heard to be buttering Pawan Kalyan now. Let us see, how Pawan Kalyan will react.

Mumaith turns villain for NNR

Mumaith turns villain for NNR
Mumaith Khan, who sizzled on big screens with many item numbers, later acted as a female lead in woman-centric films, but she failed to make her mark with her acting skills. However, Mumaith seems to have not lost hope on acting and still trying her best for the offers.
Now, Mumaith Khan was offered a negative shaded role in Puri Jagannadh’s directorial Nenu Naa Rakshasi starring Rana Daggubati and Ileana in the lead roles. The sizzling lady expresses her happiness over the role and strives hard to prove her acting skills in the negative character.
Nenu Naa Rakshasi is slated for a release in April.

Puri to remake Sholay with Prabhas, Gopichand and Ravi Teja?

Puri to remake Sholay with Prabhas, Gopichand and Ravi Teja?
If sources are to be believed, the sensational director Puri Jagannadh is planning to remake the Bollywood’s all time hit Sholay. The movie which is a multi-starrer will have Young Rebel Star Prabhas and Aggressive Star Gopichand in the lead roles. The most interesting buzz in the film-nagar circles is the dashing director is trying to cast Mass Raja Ravi Teja for the Gabbar Singh’s role in the film, which is originally played by Amzad Khan.
Well, if the buzz turns true, the movie will definitely gain craze as tollywood’s biggest multi-starrer. But, at the same time, it’s not an easy job for any director to remake such an ever-green blockbuster like Sholay. Earlier, Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma burnt his fingers in remaking the same film that remained as the biggest flop show at the Box-Office.
Well, let’s see how Puri Jagannadh manages the remake…

Bobbili Raja Vs Nenu Naa Rakshasi!

This is a painful situation for young hero daggubati rana. When there is much more to prove himself as an artist as Sekhar Kammula hasn’t touched any corner of an actor with the ‘Leader,’ checking all the alternatives Rana settled to Puri Jagannath’s ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi.’ All of the sudden, dark clouds started to cover on the release of this romantic action flick because Daggubati camp appears to have started to publicize more about the remake of ‘Bobbili Raja’ rather than boosting the positives of ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi.’
Bobbili Raja Vs Nenu Naa Rakshasi!Even early birds in the industry circles are murmuring that producer of the film Nallamalupu Bujji has tightened his seat belt for Gopichand’s ‘Mogudu’ with Krishnavamsi leaving it to the fate of Rana and Puri to complete the patch work. What is running behind the scenes for ‘Nenu Naa Rakshasi’ is still unknown because audio and movie release are continually getting postponed and now, 'Bobbili Raja' starting to dominate the news section is considered as something smelling pungent.
Let us see, how will the perfectionist director Puri bring out his product…either half baked or full cooked?

Ileana's romance with professional killer

Ileana's romance with professional killerPuri Jagannath can never give up his attitude of dealing the heroes dynamically. Beating the pulp out of cop roles with underworld backdrop from 'Pokiri' to 'Golimaar', now Daggubati Rana is made the professional killer in the next film 'Nenu Naa Rakshasi' ready for release in February.
The six feet two inches tall Rana was appreciated on novel thinking of teaming with Sekhar Kammula for 'Leader', the best debut platform offered for a modest hero. The gulfed one year gap is high for a young hero and Rana was selective in directors till Puri Jagannath entreated with this story. The flirtatious Ileana impelled into young hearts with the desiring display besides Rana, the summer season is to get hotter with the professional killer and his Rakshasi. To what extent Rana triumphs in this role depends upon the carving style of Puri Jagannath.
