Ezham Arivu's Suriya movie big music launch in June

The music launch of film maker Murugadoss' much awaited Ezham Arivu will take place at the Nehru Stadium in Chennai in June, 2011. The film is based on a circus artiste and Suriya plays the role of a trapeze artiste cum animal trainer. Shruti Haasan and Abhinaya are the heroines. Harris Jayaraj is currently busy composing the songs for the film.

The actor Suriya has performed all the circus acts himself without using a body double in any of the sequences. Besides his circus acts, the actor will also perform several innovative stunts in the film. A special trainer from Rajkamal Circus was appointed to teach him the jumps and other special items he performs in the movie. According to sources, Suriya is also planning to perform the circus stunts he has learnt during the 7Aum Arivu music launch for his fans.

‘Siruthai’ is an upcoming tamil movie starring Karthi in dual roles for the first time. Tamannah and Santhanam play the other central characters. ‘Siruthai’ is a remake of the Telugu blockbuster ‘Vikramarkudu’ starring Ravi Teja, Anushka and Brahmanadham.

‘Siruthai’ is directed by Siva, a noted cinematographer-director in Telugu known for fast pace commercial ventures like ‘Shouryam’ and ‘Shankam’. He is debuting in Tamil with this film.In the film Karthi plays the role of a honest police officer Ratnavel Pandian IPS and a cutpurse petty thief Rocket Raja. Tamannah is Rocket Raja’s love interest. Santhanam is Pattu Poochi, the sidekick of Rocket Raja. Avinash, Rajiv Kanakala and Manobala are also in the cast. Meghna Naidu has done an item number.

‘Siruthai’ is about two contradicting characters, different values in the society. But destiny brings them together resulting in unexpected chain of events.

Rocket Raja (Karthi) is a cunning thief in the art of cut purse who never leaves anything during his acts. He and his side kick Pattu Poochi (Santhanam) follow this rituals wholeheartedly. Suddenly Rocket Raja’s life is turned upside down when a little girl (Baby Rakshana) approaches claiming him to be her father.Stunned by the blow Rocket Raja slowly finds out the truth. The little girl turns out to be the daughter of an honest police officer Ratnavel Pandian IPS (Karthi) who was after the deadly dons in the city. During one his courageous acts he gets killed in action in front of Rocket Raja.Rocket Raja and his past revisits changing the faces of present for a paradisiacal future. Rocket Raja now decides to take on the dons on behalf of the dead cop Ratnavel Pandian. The good takes on the evil.

‘Siruthai’ is the fifth film of Karthi and his second film with Tamannah after ‘Paiyaa’. The films is said to have the right mix of fun, action, glamour, romance, comedy and sentiments. According to Karthi, ‘Siruthai’ is 70% of comedy and 30% action.Karthi has said that he did a lot of homework to make the two different characters look as original as possible. For the police officer role the actor said he got a lot of tips from his brother Suriya who did the immortal Anbu Selvan IPS in ‘Kaakha Kaakha’ and also watched a lot of old films like ‘Moondru Mugam’ to get that perfect style of a police like the Alex Pandian.

However the action and comedy are touted as the highlights of the film. In a stunt sequence Karthi bashes down 19 goons in a single shot.Music of the film is composed by Vidyasagar. The music album released on December 30, 2010 has five songs in it. Velraj has handled choreography.‘Siruthai’ is produced by Studio Green's K.E.Gnanavelraja who has produced only hits so far in Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, Paruthiveeran, Singam and Naan Mahaan Alla.‘Siruthai’ is planning to release on Pongal.

‘Kavalan’ is the upcoming tamil movie of Vijay which has a lot of things at stake. It is the 51st film of Vijay. After a fairly long poor run at the box office Vijay is expecting a lot out of this film. The heroine Asin is also praying for acceptance after her escapades in Sri Lanka has not gone down well with the Tamil community across the world.

The film is about the strange fascination of a guy who worships anyone with a trace of heroism. He one comes across a reformed liquor mogul and now leading businessman and finds him to be his hero. He then joins him as the bodyguard to protect his beautiful daughter.

The body guard and the beautiful daughter fall in love without knowing to each other and later separate without wanting to. What happened to their love and after is the story. The first half is expected to be a hilarious entertainer while the story tales a serious turn in the second half and the climax will be a shocker.In the original version the lead characters were played by Dileep, Nayantara, Mithra Kurian and Thiyagarajan. In Tamil the roles are played by Vijay, Asin, Mithra Kurian and Raj Kiran. Vadivelu is for comedy and Roja returns playing the wife of Raj Kiran. In fact Asin was first approached even for the Malayalam film. As she was busy with her Bollywood assignment Nayantara stepped in.Livingston. MS Baskar, Delhi Ganesh, Nizhalgal Ravi are also in the cast. Music director is Vidyasagar and the film has six songs. Cinematography N K Ekambaram and Editing is by Gowri Shankar. The film is being made at a cost or Rs. 38 crores according to sources.

Another recent development is that the producer-director Shakthi Chidambaram has acquired the film. When the distributors of Vijay’s earlier films have refused to back up ‘Kavalan’ and are demanding hefty compensation from Vijay saying his recent movies has put them in debt trap, the move of Shakthi Chidambaram is being considered a bold act by many. ‘Kavalan’ is produced by C Ramesh Babu under the banner of Eka Veera Creations.

‘Kavalan’ is the remake of the Malayalam film ‘Bodyguard’ and has nothing to do with the Kevin Costner film. The film was announced first with the title ‘Kaaval Karan’ and when Sathya Movies, the producer of the MGR super hit objected the title was changed to ‘Kaaval Kadhal’. Ilaignan is upcoming tamil movie staring remya nambeeshan , meera jasmine, namitha,Pa. Vijay,Khushboo,Vadivelu. The movie is planning to release on mid of feb 2011.

Tamil movie Illeyngan is a period film that narrates the story of a mother and son. Kalaignar Karunanidhi has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues for this film directed by Suresh Krishna (of Annamalai, Basha, Veera fame). Interestingly, Illeyngan is Suresh Krishna's 50th directorial venture. Camera is handled by B.L. Sanjay while Vidyasagar will compose the music.

‘Aadukalam’ is one of the mainly expected tamil film in the first half of 2011. It is made by the rocking group that set new standards for urban realistic cinema with ‘Polladhavan’ in 2008.Except for the heroine the entire team of ‘Polladhavan’ is at work in ‘Aadukalam’. The film was started with the title ‘Seval’ but was renamed after knowing Director Hari had registered the title for a film with Bharath.

‘Aadukalam’ is said to be based on a true story which occurred in Madurai in the 1970s. Hero Dhanush plays a rustic character Karuppu and Tapsee Pannu plays an Anglo-Indian in the film. Sindhu Menon, Daniel Balaji, Kishore, Karunas and GM Kumar are also there. Srilankan Tamil writer V.I.S. Jayapalan has also donned a big role.

Set in backdrops of Madurai, the film revolves around the native group and its culture interwoven with a beautiful love story. According to the film’s director Vettrimaran, Dhanush owns a one-legged rooster that wins all the cock-fight competitions hands down in the area.

GV Prakash has scored the music and the soundtrack consists of seven tracks including two rap numbers. The lyrics are written by Yegathasi, Yugabharathi, V.I.S. Jayapalan, Snehan and Yogi B. It is said that GV Prakash imported some instruments and sound systems from abroad only for recording some unique music in ‘Aadukalam’.

Dhanush rates ‘Aadukalam’ as his best film so far and hopes very high on the film. Director Vettrimaran says this film will be poles apart from his first film.

There said to be two versions of ‘Aadukalam’ in hand when the film sees its release. One will be a regular full version film and the other a Festival Cut which will run only for 100 minutes without the songs.Produced by S. Kathiresan under Group Company, ‘Aadukalam’ will be distributed by Sun Pictures which ensures running the first lap with ease.
