Heather Mitts
Heather Blaine Mitts (born June 9, 1978 in Cincinnati, Ohio) is an American soccer player. Mitts is a defender for the United States Women's National Soccer Team.
Heather Mitts played soccer in high school for St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio and in college for the University of Florida, becoming an All-American, and led the team to a national title in her junior year (1998). Mitts played for the Philadelphia Charge, a team in the Women's United Soccer Association. She was also part of the gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic soccer team in 2004 and the U.S. team that finished 2nd in the 2006 Algarve Cup.
In 2004, Heather Mitts was voted as "Hottest Female Athlete" by the users of ESPN.com. She is also a sideline reporter for ESPN2 and ABC's coverage of Major League Soccer, and is a columnist for ESPN Soccernet.
On May 12, 2007, Heather Mitts tore her ACL in an international friendly with Canada. This injury put Mitts out of contention for the Women's World Cup in the fall of 2007.
On June 23, 2008, Mitts was named on the 18-player US roster for the 2008 Olympics.

Her accolades are almost too many to name. All-city, all-region, all-state, all-star, and all-American are some of the titles Heather has carried. In 1997, playing for the Florida Gators, she won the Coaches Award for Most Inspirational Player. In 1998, she played for a team-high of 2,329 minutes, a single-season record at Florida.
Perhaps most impressively, Heather Mitts was handpicked as a starting player by one of the first teams in the nascent women's professional soccer league. After a season with the Tampa Bay Extreme, and several games with the under-21 national team, she moved to the Philadelphia Charge, one of the nation's top women's squads.
